What is a screening mammogram and why do I need one?
An imaging technique called screening mammography helps people with no signs of breast cancer identify the disease.Instead of being a diagnostic test, a screening mammogram measures your risk of developing breast cancer in the future (which is carried out if you have symptoms or suspect you might have cancer). With its help, it is frequently possible to identify breast cancers at an early stage that are difficult to feel or see during a physical examination. Screening mammography can also find breast changes that are unrelated to breast cancer but could be problematic if not found and treated early.
