The online conference is gaining more and more space and, therefore, many organizers are opting for this type of event.
How an online conference works
In this type of event, the speakers record their lectures in advance and send them to the event organizers, who transmit this content to the participants on the day of the event.
On the day of the online conference, the speaker goes live to answer the listeners’ questions.
The mediator who has already collected the audience’s questions during the broadcast develops a very productive and enriching conversation for the event during this roundtable broadcast.
How to record your talk
Some people still have difficulty recording such videos, especially when choosing an online screen recorder program to record and edit videos.
But this process need not be seen as a bug.
There are a lot of tools and programs to record your lectures online. Some of them are even free.
This article will cover the use of the RecordCast screen recorder, an online screen, and a webcam recording tool.
What is RecordCast?
If you thought that recording your own lectures required a super professional structure, you are wrong.
It is possible to record and edit your lectures with tools available on the internet. One of them is RecordCast. This tool allows you to record your presentation in Powerpoint, Keynote, Google Slides, or any other tools.
RecordCast offers its tool completely free of charge. It would be amazing news for university professors and students to record their online courses. What a great initiative!
One thing I really like about RecordCast is the fact that you can record your screen while recording yourself presenting it. This is really useful, as participants can see the person instead of just viewing the slides.
For this, I suggest using the RecordCast, as it allows you to record the presentation together with the camera. What’s the best thing is that no fees, no watermarks on the high-resolution output videos.
How does it help with online conferences?
Since RecordCast is a web-based tool, you are not required to install anything. The first step is to open the website:Recordcast.com.
When accessing the website, just click on “Start Recording.” It’s not a must to register an account, but I suggest creating an account. That way, you can save the project to your account for future editing. It only saves the project under your account, not including your image or recording resources, so you don’t need to worry about the personal information shared with a third party.
Then, you will be directed to the recording mode page. You have three options to choose a recording mode: Screen + Webcam, Screen Only, Webcam Only.
After deciding your recording mode, choose the audio recording options from Microphone + System audio, Microphone, System audio. You can even choose to disable all the audio by selecting the No audio option if you want.
After that, choose a recording area. RecordCast allows you to record the complete computer screen, an application window, or a Chrome tab to move forward.
Ready! Your time has come. It is recording now! RecordCast enables you to pause/continue recording at any time you want. If you wish, re-record the whole video anytime you like.
When the recording is finished, just click on the red button on the screen to stop it. Then you can download your recording directly to your computer.
Polish recordings
RecordCast has a built-in video editor that allows you to continue your recording after the recording is finished. Click on the “Edit and Export in MP4” button to make some fine tunes. You can upload images and background music to merge them into the recording.
You can also add text annotations to emphasize where you want to convey to your listeners. It offers a list of preset text fonts of simple and dynamic styles for you to choose from. You can split your recording into several clips and delete the one you don’t want. Do any more editing if you need it.
When finished, click on the “Export Video” button, and a new screen will open. Choose a resolution (480p, 720p, 1080p) and export it to MP4on your computer, and send it to the organization!
My thought
As soon as you are involved in the world of screencasts, RecordCast will surely sound familiar to you. It is one of the most welcomed online screen recording utilities. To use it in the browser, you don’t even need to install anything. Just open the website to get your online conference recorded for free.
Isn’t it a lot easier than you imagined? Then share with us what you think of the tool.
I bet your online lecture will be a success!
