If you want to clean your floor without the help of harsh chemicals, you need a steam mop. It works with electricity, which heats the water contained in a container. Once the water is heated to the correct degree, steam is produced that cleanses dirt and grease. Saves you the time and effort you would otherwise need to clean the floor. You can use the mop on hard floor surfaces such as stone, ceramic, marble and wood floors. It is important that you clean your steam mop thoroughly after use. This will not only maintain its efficiency but will also extend its life.
Step 1: unplug the machine
Unplug the cord from the outlet before cleaning. If the machine has been in use, the mop pad and bottoms will be hot from machine operation. Allow about 15 minutes for the machine to cool completely.
Step 2: drain the tank after use
Always empty the tank after each use. When you leave water in the tank, there is a greater risk of mold or corrosion developing.
Step 3: soak and wash dirty pads
The steam cleaner comes with replacement mop pads. However, mops can be washed after use. This will help you stretch the pads for longer. Separate used mops. Soak dirty pads after use with a little normal laundry detergent and a tablespoon of baking soda. Allow about 15 minutes for the detergent to work on the dirt. Wash well and rinse with plenty of water. You should try to remove all traces of soap. Hang the pads outside to air dry. Make sure they are completely dry before storing. Alternatively, you can machine wash in hot water and then tumble dry.
Step 4 – Clean the tank
Dampen a soft cloth with warm water. Gently clean the inside of the tank. Make sure to reach all areas. Also clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Once you notice that the cloth is dirty, it is better to change it and use another cloth to complete the job. Set the tank aside in a safe place.
Step 5: steam mop surfaces
Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the surface of the steamer. Make sure to wipe the entire surface. Multiple cloths may be required to do the job. Gather all the used cloths when you are done. You can wash them in the washing machine and then tumble dry them.
Step 6 – Place the tank
Install the clean tank in the vaporizer. Do not fill it with water. It is best to fill the tank when it is ready to use.
Step 7 – Store
Once clean and fully assembled, store the machine in an upright position. Make sure the storage area is dry and free of dust.
Never use cleaning products with the mop, as they can damage the equipment. Do not use bleach to clean the mop pads, as it can weaken the material. Always use distilled or demineralized water for steam cleaning. It has no minerals or deposits and will improve the performance of your machine.
